Bikeloop was established in 2021, inspired by the Harbor Promenade in Oslo, where the city of Oslo had placed 14 orange containers to mark the path along the one-kilometer long walkway by the waterfront. Entrepreneur Hedda Heyerdahl had the idea to make these empty containers more functional by transforming them into smart bicycle parking. Two years later, the first Bikeloop was ready. In collaboration with Bærum municipality and their Smart City program, the first Bikeloop HUB was launched at Kadettangen in Sandvika.
