Munkelia housing cooperative is rolling out the bike parking of the future
Munkelia housing cooperative, located in Lambertseter and consisting of 428 owner-occupied apartments, is taking an important step towards making it easier and safer for residents to choose cycling in their daily lives.
Bikeloop NEST is a modern solution for secure and smart bicycle parking, developed to meet the needs of housing cooperatives and condominiums where space utilization, security, and user-friendliness are crucial. With fixed, dedicated spaces and easy access, residents get a predictable and seamless parking experience.
The facility is prepared for a green roof and is built in with a hedge around, so that in spring it will blend naturally into the landscape and contribute to a more cohesive and attractive outdoor area.
Charging points have also been installed for all 10 spaces. This makes it easy to charge electric bicycles safely outdoors, while also helping to reduce fire risk compared to charging indoors – a topic that is becoming increasingly important with the rising use of electric bicycles.
Residents will have access to their own fixed spaces with charging through a payment solution. This helps to make the facility self-financing, while ensuring good utilization and predictable operation over time.
