The mayor opened a new bike parking facility at Nesoddtangen using Bikeloop technology for increased safety

The bike hotel was originally established by Akershus County Municipality with the aim of providing cyclists with a free and sheltered parking offer. Unfortunately, the open solution has attracted bike thieves, which has led to the implementation of more advanced security measures.

In collaboration with Bikeloop, AKT has made several necessary changes. The bike hotel is now physically closed with automatic, access-controlled doors. To gain access, users must identify themselves via Vipps (BankID) and create a subscription in the Bikeloop app. This provides full control over who has access to the facility and enables securing bikes in a safer way.

– When something doesn’t work as intended, we must make changes, says Jafar Altememy, managing director of AKT. – We have done thorough preparatory work and believe that Bikeloop is the best solution for Nesodden.

During the opening of the new bike parking, Mayor Cathrine Kjenner Forsland was present to cut the ribbon. She expressed that the people of Nesodden greatly appreciate the new parking solution and emphasized that it will provide greater security after previous challenges with theft. – This is a reopening that we truly appreciate, but even more important is that we now have a safer solution, said Forsland during the opening.

Hedda Heyerdahl, founder of Bikeloop, is also pleased with the collaboration and the new solution:

With Bikeloop LINK in place, the bike parking at Nesoddtangen is now both safer and smarter, and a significant improvement for cyclists in the area.
