Nesoddtangen Sykkelhotell, a popular bicycle parking facility in Nesodden, has recently been upgraded with Bikeloop LINK as part of a collaboration between Akershus kollektivterminaler FKF (AKT) and Bikeloop. This initiative comes in response to several user reports of bicycle thefts at the facility, which previously operated as an open parking solution without sufficient security.

The bicycle hotel was originally established by Akershus County with the aim of offering cyclists free, covered parking. Unfortunately, the open setup attracted bicycle thieves, prompting the implementation of more advanced security measures.
In collaboration with Bikeloop, AKT has made several key improvements. The facility is now physically enclosed with automatic, access-controlled doors. To gain access, users must identify themselves through Vipps (BankID) and set up a subscription in the Bikeloop app. This ensures full control over who can enter the facility and provides a much safer environment for parking bicycles.
-When something isn’t working as intended, we have to make changes,” said Jafar Altememy, CEO of AKT. “We’ve done our homework and believe Bikeloop is the best solution for Nesodden.”
During the opening of the upgraded facility, Mayor Cathrine Kjenner Forsland was present to cut the ribbon. She emphasized how much the people of Nesodden appreciate the new parking solution and stressed that it offers greater security following earlier theft incidents. -This is a reopening that we truly value — but even more important is the fact that we now have a safer solution,” said Forsland during the event.
Hedda Heyerdahl, founder of Bikeloop, also expressed her satisfaction with the collaboration and the new solution:
-We know how frustrating it is to experience theft or vandalism to your bike. We’re proud of our partnership with AKT and look forward to offering cyclists at Nesoddtangen a safer and smarter parking experience.”
With Bikeloop LINK now in place, the bicycle parking facility at Nesoddtangen is both more secure and more intelligent — a significant improvement for cyclists in the area.
